Welcome!

I am a small hobby breeder with just two dogs of high quality. Lola has an incredible confirmation and wavy coat, while Mico is more of the Havana Silk Dog type with longer, leaner bones and the most silky hair.

Both dogs have the amazing Havanese temperament, are very small in size, and provide an unending amount of love and happiness. The Havanese makes an excellent companion because it loves being near its' 'people' as much as possible. They make great family pets because they are great with children, hypo-allergenic (as much as any dog can be) and are so fun and funny to watch. Havanese love learning tricks and also are great with other pets.

My puppies were born in my bedroom and the weaning box will be in my house with us the entire time we have the puppies. The puppies are socialized daily several times, and are beginning the business of potty training.

Puppies at 2 weeks old-eyit-really.

Hello, I'm Deborah

This wonderful Havanese adventure all started a little over 2 years ago when my grand daughter wanted a puppy. My daughter and I researched breeds and are so blessed we decided on a Havanese. I had always Had English Mastiffs, so this was a big change.

We found a darling little female we named Lola. She is so keenly intelligent and sweet. Everyone she meets is her friend. She added so much joy to my life. I got Lola during the worst of Covid. I was visiting my daughter in Oregon, and between the rain (that I love!) and Covid, there was never anyone at the doggie park. When I returned to Florida she tried to play with dogs in the park but they just did not have her playful attitude. This love of play and happiness often stays with Havanese their entire lives. Anyway, she was so lovely that I decided  I had to have two.

I got Mico when Lola was a little over a year. Watching them grow I realized they were very well proportioned, small (each just over 7 pounds) and had such delightful temperaments.

They complemented each other as well-where one was stronger

in some attributes the other was not. I thought as an artist and scientist that they would have beautiful pups.

I could not be happier with Lola's first litter. She is a great mom and had her puppies in my bedroom.

The puppies are only 3 weeks old, and just walking , but are going potty on their paper. I plan on switching to pellets and puppies will come to you with a solid foundation of knowing there is a place for potty. They will also have vaccinations, wormings,  and tons of love and socialization.

History of the Havanese

The Havanese have a long and interesting history, starting in the early 1500's when people went from Spain to Cuba with their furry companions. At that time it was a fluffy white dog related to the Bichon. Over the centuries, other little aristocratic dogs were bred with it to produce the the Blanquito de la Habana, now extinct. However some of those descendants made it to the USA from Cuba in 1959. Ultimately,  eleven of these dogs were found in America and from this small founding stock, breeding guidelines were established to try and save the breed from extinction. This created the Havanese that we know today.
This is a very quick version as there are a lot of details missing-but they have books and articles on it.

Although I am actually a scientist, you don't need to be one to figure out that many other dogs went into the making of this breed until it was finally registered many years later by the AKC in 1996. Certain lines today are larger (pounds +) or have very kinky hair which is very hard to manage and the dog usually has to be kept shaved. That is why you should always be able to see pictures of the puppies parents and know their size.when you are looking for a lifelong friend
